Au travers de ma pratique de la photographie, je cherche à saisir l'environnement ou l’instant qui m’émeuvent, par leur beauté éphémère et leur impermanence. Bien qu’ayant toujours été citadin, après de longues années à pratiquer la photographie lors de voyages et de flâneries urbaines, je me suis tourné vers la photographie de paysage. Ce changement s’est accompagné d’un retour à la photographie argentique en plein et moyen format, à la fois en couleur et en noir et blanc. Alors que je m’oriente vers la photographie documentaire, je garde une approche plus poétique que didactique, tout en essayant d’y instiller un style narratif plus abouti. En parallèle, ma pratique de la photographie créative consiste plus en une recherche formelle, parfois auto-référentielle et sans aucun doute introspective. De manière générale, mon travail s'inscrit dans ce que l'on appelle la photographie post-documentaire, en tant qu’elle« réfère à un style poétique ou ambigu dont le sens ou le message n'est pas surdéterminé » (The Post-Documentary Photographers Who Care about the World, Aperture.org, 30 avril 2021, Lucy McKeon).

Through my photography practice, I seek to capture the environment or the moment that moves me, through their ephemeral beauty and impermanence. Although I have always been a city dweller, after many years of practicing photography during travels and urban strolls, I turned to landscape photography. This change was accompanied by a return to full and medium format film photography, both in color and black and white. As I move towards documentary photography, I maintain a more poetic than didactic approach, while trying to instill a more accomplished narrative style. At the same time, my creative photography practice consists more of a formal research, sometimes self-referential and undoubtedly introspective. Generally speaking, my work falls within what is called post-documentary photography, as it “refers to a poetic or ambiguous style whose meaning or message is not overdetermined” (The Post-Documentary Photographers Who Care about the World, Aperture.org, April 30, 2021, Lucy McKeon).
